Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling realizará Grand Princess ’25, una nueva edición de su icónico evento este 16 de marzo, en el Ota City General Gymnasium. El evento estelar del evento será un combate por el Princess of Princess Championship en el que Mizuki defenderá su cinturón ante Rika Tatsumi. Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a Rika Tatsumi antes de este importante show. Rika quien respondió varias de las preguntas de Pep. Los temas fueron sobre su vínculo con TJPW y por qué decidió convertirse en luchadora profesional, la gira en Estados Unidos, su combate titular, su vida personal y mucho más.

Entrevista con Rika Tatsumi (TJPW): Lo profesional y lo personal (Spanish & English)
Pep: Este año celebraste tu 11º aniversario como luchadora profesional. ¿Podrías decirnos cuándo y por qué decidiste convertirte en luchadora profesional? ¿Qué es lo que te motiva actualmente para seguir compitiendo al más alto nivel? ¿Qué significa TJPW para ti y tu vida?
Rika: Yo no era nadie, pero el aspecto de entretenimiento de la lucha libre me atrajo y pensé: “¡Quiero saber más sobre esto! Me gustaría poder usarlo como mi arma”. Luego, dos meses después de ver la lucha libre por primera vez en junio de 2013, me convertí en aprendiz.
Mi motivación viene de los fans. Es gracias a ellos que he podido seguir adelante durante 11 años. No importa lo difíciles o dolorosas que se pongan las cosas, puedo superarlas. Quiero hacer sonreír a los fans y traerles felicidad, eso es en lo que pienso.
Nunca he hecho nada más en mi vida que haya durado tanto tiempo excepto la lucha libre. Es algo sin lo que actualmente no puedo vivir.
Pep: En Grand Princess ’25, desafiarás a Mizuki por el Campeonato Princesa de Princesas. ¿Cuáles son tus expectativas para este combate? ¿Qué piensas de Mizuki como luchadora?
Rika: Siento que es el destino que mi primer combate individual con Mizuki sea un combate por el título. Tiene una cara bonita pero hace cosas escandalosas, y es una luchadora única que hace movimientos que nadie más puede imitar.
Amo y respeto a Mizuki tanto como luchadora como en mi vida personal. Enfrentarme a ella en un combate llena mi cuerpo de un torbellino de nervios, emoción, alegría y todo tipo de emociones, ¡pero daré lo mejor de mí sin dudarlo!
Pep: En abril participarás en la gira estadounidense de TJPW. ¿Qué tipo de combate quieres tener? ¿Cuáles son tus expectativas para esta gira? ¿Tienes algún plan turístico sobre cosas que te gustaría ver o hacer en Las Vegas?
Rika: Quiero ir allí como campeón y llevar el cinturón conmigo. ¡Me encantaría tener un combate con cualquiera! Me encantaría estar en el combate por el título.
Si tengo tiempo, me gustaría ir a Fremont Street y tomarme fotos en un lugar deslumbrante con luces de neón. Tengo curiosidad por el casino, pero me pregunto si podría hacerlo. No estoy segura.
Pep: ¿Podrías contarnos sobre tus pasatiempos y las cosas que te gusta hacer fuera de la lucha libre? ¿Podrías contarnos cómo es un día típico en la vida de Rika Tatsumi?
Rika: Me gusta la música y, a veces, toco la guitarra o voy a espectáculos en vivo y festivales. Recientemente, me he vuelto adicta al K-POP. En los días en los que no pasa nada, paso todo el día viendo contenido que me interesa, comiendo mis comidas favoritas y simplemente holgazaneando.
Pep: Si pudieras traer a cualquier luchador del mundo para competir contra ti en un combate en un ring de TJPW, ¿a quién elegirías y qué estipulación elegirías? ¿Por qué a él o a ella? ¿Y por qué esta estipulación?
Rika: Mis sueños se expanden mucho, pero siempre he querido pelear con The Brahman Brothers. Son una presencia tan diferente, y me gusta el hecho de que hagan cosas locas durante el combate. Preferiría al aire libre si es posible. ¡Por favor que sea un combate en donde las caídas cuenten en cualquier parte del recinto!
Pep: TJPW recientemente hizo su debut en Latinoamérica con algunos combates en Chile. Para finalizar esta entrevista queríamos pedirte que envíes un saludo o mensaje a tus fans en Latinoamérica y España, países donde se habla español, que siguen tu trabajo y que, a pesar de la distancia y la barrera del idioma, están felices por ti y quieren verte seguir creciendo como luchadora y como persona.
Rika: Si no me hubiera convertido en luchadora de TJPW, no creo que hubiera cruzado el océano ni me hubiera hecho conocida, así que me siento muy extraña por eso. ¡Gracias por todo su apoyo! Creo que la lucha libre tiene la energía para romper las barreras del idioma, así que seguiré luchando a mi manera.

Pep: This year you celebrated your 11th anniversary as a professional wrestler. Could you tell us when and why you decided to become a professional wrestler? What currently motivates you to continue competing at the highest level? What does TJPW mean to you and your life?
Rika: I was a nobody, but the entertainment aspect of wrestling attracted me and I thought, “I want to know more about it! I wish I could use it as my weapon.”, then two months after I saw wrestling for the first time in June 2013, I became a trainee.
My motivation comes from the fans. It’s because of them that I’ve been able to keep going for 11 years. No matter how tough or painful things get, I can overcome them. I want to make the fans smile and bring them happiness—that’s what I think about.
I have never done anything else in my life that has lasted this long except for wrestling. It is something I cannot live without.
Pep: At Grand Princess ’25, you will challange Mizuki for the Princess of Princess Championship. What are your expectations for this match? What do you think of Mizuki as a wrestler?
Rika: I feel it is fate that my first singles match with Mizuki will be a title match. She has a cute face but does outrageous things, and she’s a one-of-a-kind wrestler who pulls off moves no one else can imitate.
I love and respect Mizuki both as a wrestler and in my personal life. Facing her in a match fills my body with a whirlwind of nerves, excitement, joy, and all sorts of emotions, but I will give it my all without hesitation!
Pep: In April you will be participating in TJPW’s US tour. What a kind of match do you want to have? What are your expectations for this tour? Do you have any tourist plans on things you want to see or do in Las Vegas?
Rika: I want to go there as a champion bringing the belt with me. I’d be happy to have a match with anyone! I would love to be in the title match.
If I have time, I’d like to go to Fremont Street and take pictures in a dazzling, neon-lit place. I’m curious about the casino, but I wonder if I’d be able to do it? I’m not sure.
Pep: Could you tell us about your hobbies and the things you like to do outside of wrestling? Could you tell us what a typical day in the life of Rika Tatsumi is like?
Rika: I like music, and sometimes I play the guitar or go to live shows and festivals. Recently, I’ve been hooked on K-POP. On days when there’s nothing going on, I spend the whole day watching content I’m interested in, eating my favorite foods, and just lazing around.
Pep: If you could bring any wrestler in the world to compete against you in a match in a TJPW ring, who would you choose and what stipulation would you choose? Why him or her? And why this stipulation?
Rika: My dreams expand a lot, but I have always wanted to fight with The Brahman Brothers. They are such a different presence, and I like the fact that they do crazy things during the match. I would prefer outdoors if possible. Please let it be a falls count anywhere match!
Pep: TJPW recently made their debut in Latin America with some matches in Chile. To end this interview we wanted to ask you to send a greeting or message to your fans in Latin America and Spain, who follow your work and who, despite the distance and the language barrier, are happy for you and want to see you continue to grow as a wrestler and as a person.
Rika: If I hadn’t become a TJPW wrestler, I don’t think I would’ve crossed the sea and gotten known, so it feels really strange. Thank you for all your support! I believe that wrestling has the energy to break through language barriers, so I will continue to fight my way.
