Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling realizará TJPW ALL RISE ’25, una nueva edición de su evento este 9 de noviembre en Korakuen Hall. Se han anunciados varios combates atractivos en la cartelera como un nuevo combate por equipo por los TJPW Princess Tag Team Championships entre Ober Eats (Yuki Kamifuku y Wakana Uehara) contra Bumping gRitters (HIMAWARI y Shino Suzuki). Pep S. Caro tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a HIMAWARI antes de este importante show. Los temas fueron sobre su combate contra Aja Kong, su experiencia internacional con TJPW, enfrentar a Shoko Nakajima en MLW, hacer equipo con Shino Suzuki y retar por los campeones en TJPW ALL RISE ’25, su vida personal y mucho más.

Pep: En TJPW WRESTLE PRINCESS VI, perdiste contra Aja Kong. Fue un combate importante para ti. ¿Qué pensaste después de participar en él? ¿Qué impresión te causa la Aja Kong actual como competidora?

HIMAWARI: Aja Kong-san es la personificación de la lucha libre profesional. Estar cerca de ella cambia por completo el ambiente. Cada mirada, cada golpe que lanza, está cargado de historia y una convicción arrolladora.

Creo que todos pensaban que no tenía ninguna posibilidad de ganar. Al final, tenían razón, y aunque perdí, creo que supe luchar como lo hice. Enfrentarme a Aja-san en un combate individual fue una gran experiencia que me enriqueció, con todo el miedo y la euforia que sentí.

Aja-san, que lleva siendo luchadora profesional más tiempo del que yo llevo viva, me demostró su poder mientras absorbía todo lo que yo tenía para ofrecer. Sentir el peso de su presencia tan de cerca me hizo realmente feliz.

Todavía hay una gran diferencia entre nosotras, pero ahora tengo esperanza: si sigo adelante, tal vez algún día pueda llegar a ser como ella. Incluso ahora, todavía siento temor cuando estoy frente a ella, pero más que eso, siento un profundo respeto. Es alguien a quien realmente aspiro a parecerme.

Pep: Regresaste a Estados Unidos y te enfrentaste a Shoko Nakajima por el Campeonato Mundial Femenino de Peso Pluma de MLW. ¿Qué pensaste después de participar en la lucha? ¿Qué impresión tienes de la Nakajima actual como competidora?

HIMAWARI: Por supuesto, hubo frustración, pero esa derrota me hizo estar muy decidida a convertirme en una luchadora que pueda competir de verdad en el escenario mundial.

Fue mi primer combate individual contra Nakajima-san, así que el hecho de que fuera una lucha por el título me generó nerviosismo e incertidumbre. Pero los aficionados estadounidenses me brindaron un gran apoyo, y Nakajima-san me enfrentó con todo lo que tenía. Por eso, se convirtió en uno de los combates más importantes de mi carrera como luchadora.

Incluso ahora, Nakajima-san sigue siendo un gran obstáculo para mí, y una de las razones por las que sigo adelante.

Pep: Formaste equipo con Shino Suzuki. ¿Qué nos puedes contar sobre tu relación con Shino? ¿Cómo ha sido la preparación para enfrentar a Ober Eats por los títulos de parejas en ALL RISE ’25 y qué opinas de ellas como rivales?

HIMAWARI: Creo que Shino y yo nos parecemos en que ambas somos torpes, pero tenemos sentimientos directos. Desde que formamos equipo, cada vez hay más momentos en los que nos entendemos sin palabras.

Me hizo muy feliz cuando Shino, que no suele ser de las que toman la iniciativa, me dijo ella misma que quería formar equipo. Eso me reafirmó aún más en mi deseo de recorrer este camino junto a ella.

Hemos estado desarrollando combinaciones de movimientos que aprovechan al máximo las habilidades de cada una, y estamos alineando nuestra mentalidad mientras nos preparamos para la lucha por el título.

Ober Eats son fuertes, tienen un gran talento y una química increíble como equipo. Pero nosotras, HIMAWARI × Shino, las “Bumping gRitters”, somos un equipo que sigue creciendo y evolucionando. Nuestro potencial es ilimitado.

Vamos a por esos cinturones, sin duda.

Pep: Has tenido la oportunidad de representar a TJPW internacionalmente. El año pasado en Inglaterra y este año en China. ¿Qué te gustaría destacar de cada una de estas experiencias? ¿Hay algún otro país que te gustaría visitar para competir?

HIMAWARI: En el Reino Unido, fue la energía de los aficionados fuera del ring. En China, fue sentir la pasión universal por la lucha libre a pesar de las diferencias culturales. De ambas experiencias aprendí que “la lucha libre profesional trasciende el idioma”.

En cada país, había gente animándome, incluso quienes me veían por primera vez esperaban algo de mí. Siento que su apoyo me llevará más lejos por todo el mundo.

En el futuro, quiero ir a cualquier lugar donde haya lucha libre: Tailandia, Australia, ¡donde sea!

Y por supuesto, algún día me encantaría luchar en México. Bajo el sol, en la tierra de la lucha libre, siento que podría convertirme en un girasol aún más fuerte.

Pep: Queremos saber un poco más sobre HIMAWARI. ¿Podrías contarnos sobre tus pasatiempos? ¿Cómo es un día normal en tu vida cuando no tienes combate?

HIMAWARI: Mis pasatiempos son pintarme las uñas, andar en bicicleta y ver obras de teatro y juegos.

Estudio viendo lucha libre profesional y aprendo mucho yendo a ver obras de teatro… Lo llamo hobby, pero es como un trabajo (jaja).

Los días que no tengo combates ni entrenamiento, me gusta conectar con mi cuerpo, despejar la mente dando un paseo en bicicleta mientras disfruto del paisaje, ¡o salir a comer con amigos!

¡Día a día, cargo energías como un girasol! 🌻✨

Pep: Gracias por participar en esta entrevista. Para terminar, ¿tienes algún mensaje para tus fans y los fans de TJPW de todo el mundo?

Pep: In TJPW WRESTLE PRINCESS VI, you lost to Aja Kong. It was an important match for you. What are your thoughts after participating in the match? What are your impressionsof the current Aja Kong as a competitor?

HIMAWARI: Aja Kong-san is the embodiment of professional wrestling itself. Just standing near her changes the entire atmosphere. Every glance, every strike she delivers carries history and overwhelming conviction.

I think everyone thought there was no way I could win. As it turned out, they were right, and although I lost, I still think I was able to fight through as I did. Facing Aja-san in a singles match was a great experience that fed me, including all the fear and elation.

Aja-san, who has been a professional wrestler longer than I have been alive, showed me her power while taking in everything I had to offer. Feeling the weight of her presence up close made me truly happy.

There’s still a huge gap between us, but I now have hope—if I keep going, maybe one day I can become someone like her. Even now, I still feel fear when I stand across from her, but more than that, I feel deep respect. She’s someone I truly aspire to be like.

Pep: You returned to the United States and faced Shoko Nakajima for the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship. What are your thoughts after participating in the match? What are your impressions of the current Nakajima as a competitor?

HIMAWARI: Of course, there was frustration, but that loss made me strongly determined to become a wrestler who can truly compete on the world stage.

It was my first singles match against Nakajima-san, so having it be a title match came with nerves and uncertainty. But the American fans gave me so much support, and Nakajima-san faced me with everything she had. Because of that, it became one of the most important matches in my wrestling career.

Even now, Nakajima-san remains a big wall in front of me—and one of the reasons I keep pushing forward.

Pep: You teamed with Shino Suzuki. What can you tell us about your relationship with Shino? What has the preparation be like to face Ober Eats for the tag team belts at ALL RISE ’25 and what do you think of them as competitors?

HIMAWARI: I think Shino and I are similar in that we are both clumsy, but have straightforward feelings.

Since teaming together, there have been more and more moments when we can understand each other without words.

It made me really happy when Shino, who isn’t usually the type to step forward, told me herself that she wanted to team up. That made me feel even more that I want to walk this path alongside her.

We’ve been developing combination moves that make the most of what each of us can do, and we’re aligning our mindset as we prepare for the title match.

Ober Eats are strong, beautiful, and have incredible chemistry as a team.

But we, HIMAWARI × Shino, the “Bumping gRitters”—are a team that’s still growing and evolving. Our potential is limitless.

We’re absolutely reaching for those belts.

Pep: You’ve had the opportunity to represent TJPW internationally. Last year in England and this year in China. What would you like to highlight from each of these experiences? Is there any other country you’d like to visit to compete?

HIMAWARI: In the UK, it was the fans’ energy outside the ring. In China, it was feeling the universal passion for wrestling despite cultural differences. From both, I learned that “pro wrestling goes beyond language.”

In every country, there were people cheering for me, even those seeing me for the first time were expecting something from me. I feel that their support will take me further around the world.

In the future, I want to go anywhere wrestling exists, Thailand, Australia, anywhere!

And of course, I really want to wrestle in Mexico someday. Under the sun, in the land of lucha libre, I feel like I could become an even stronger sunflower.

Pep: We want to know a little more about HIMAWARI. Could you tell us about your hobbies? What is a normal day in your life like when you don’t have a match?

HIMAWARI: My hobbies are self-nailing, bicycling, watching plays and games.

I study by watching professional wrestling, and I input various things by going to see plays…… I call it a hobby, but it is like a job (lol).

On days when I don’t have matches or training, I like to spend time connecting with my body, clear my mind by cycling while enjoying the scenery, or go out to eat with friends!

Day by day, I’m charging up the sun’s energy like a sunflower! 🌻✨

Pep: Thank you for participating in this interview. Finally, do you have any message for your fans and TJPW fans around the world.

HIMAWARI: To everyone who always supports me, and to TJPW fans all over the world.

There are still so many things I want to experience and see with you.

I will not break even if I lose.

Like a sunflower that blooms toward the sky no matter how many times it is stepped on, I will keep going forward and upward.
